  • The Miramar mattress site does not accept household furniture or sofa beds, so bring couches to the landfill's main disposal area.

Option 1: Drop it off yourself

  • Miramar Landfill accepts general refuse with fees by vehicle and waste type (Fiscal Year 2027 schedule).
  • Miramar Landfill Mattress Collection Site, east side of the landfill entrance (5161 Convoy St.), Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Miramar Recycling Center, Monday to Saturday 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call 858-268-8971 to verify prices and accepted items.
  • Miramar Landfill for general bulky waste (fees apply). Appliances, TVs and electronics are not accepted as landfill trash.

Option 2: Donate or give it away

  • Habitat for Humanity ReStores generally take furniture in gently used or like-new condition. Each ReStore is run locally and sets its own rules, and some offer free pickup of large items. Find yours with the ReStore locator.
