How
Book a Bulky Item Pickup (MyLA311 or 1-800-773-2489)
Book by
1 business day before trash day

Option 1: City pickup (Bulky Item Pickup and Metal Appliance Pickup)

Who can use it

  • For single-family homes (1 to 4 units) served by LA Sanitation.
  • Apartment buildings served by the recycLA program are not covered by these LASAN pages. Check with your property manager.

How to book

  1. Book at least one business day before your regular trash day.
  2. Use the MyLA311 online service request form, the MyLA311 app, or call the 24-hour Customer Care Center at 1-800-773-2489.
  3. Have an itemized list ready (for example, "one mattress, two chairs"). Crews only take items on their work order.

TV rules

  • LASAN lists "Electronic waste (TVs, computers, monitors)" among items it will take at the curb.
  • Put the TV on your itemized list when you book. Crews only take items on their work order.
  • Electronics are also accepted at LASAN's S.A.F.E. Centers (Solvents, Automotive, Flammables, Electronics).

Setting it out

  • Items are collected on your regular trash day. Appliances often come on a different truck.
  • Do not set items out without a scheduled request.

Fees and limits

  • Bulky item pickup is an unlimited curbside service at no additional charge for LASAN customers.
  • Metal appliance pickup (including refrigerators and freezers) is at no extra cost for LASAN curbside customers.

Option 2: Drop it off yourself

  • Free monthly bulky item drop-off events, Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Remaining 2026 dates: Nov 21 and Dec 12.
  • Locations (street addresses as listed by LASAN): East Valley, 11050 Pendelton St., Sun Valley; West Valley, 8840 Vanalden Ave., Northridge; Harbor, 1400 N. Gaffey St., San Pedro; West LA, 2027 Stoner Ave., Los Angeles; Central LA, 2201 E. Washington Blvd., Los Angeles.

Option 3: Donate or give it away

  • If the TV still works, you can give it away to a neighbor or through a community exchange. Charities set their own rules for electronics, so call before you drop one off.

Donation rules are set by each charity and can change. Call before you load up.

What we could not confirm

  • The same LASAN page also describes a bulky item as "non-hazardous and non-electronic". Its accepted-items list includes TVs, so we follow that list, but name the TV clearly when you book, or ask the Customer Care Center.
  • LASAN's page lists ZIP code 91234 for the Northridge (West Valley) drop-off site, which does not look like a Northridge ZIP, so we left ZIP codes off. Confirm the address on the LASAN flyer before you go.
